Comprehensive Ophthalmology Fellowship

Fellowship Details:
1. Comprehensive Ophthalmology Fellowship (Duration – 18 Months)- Chennai / Kolkata
2. Comprehensive Ophthalmology Fellowship (Duration – 21 Months)- Chennai (with additional surgical hands on in Kolkata)

Eligibility: MS/DNB/DO

Age Limit: Upto 40 years

Goals:

1. To become a competent Ophthalmologist capable of medical management of ophthalmic disorders in all subspecialities of the eye through training in

arrow_right Refraction - including ability to do keratometry, lensometry and biometry

arrow_right Diagnosis and Medical management of glaucoma

arrow_right Correction of refractive errors, administering amblyopia therapy and learning when to refer a strabismus patient to a Paediatric Ophthalmologist

arrow_right Diagnosis and follow up of diabetic retinopathy, AMD and other retinal disorders, and referral for laser when necessary. Ability to pick up retinal breaks and conditions needing specialized retinal care

arrow_right First line management of uveitis, ordering and interpretation of tests, and competency in indications for referral

arrow_right Understanding the basics in diagnosis and management of disorders of eyelids, adnexa and orbit.

arrow_right Complete evaluation of neuro-ophthalmic conditions and to recognize when to refer.

arrow_right Management of ophthalmic emergencies

arrow_right Competence at reading and performing visual fields, OCT and other ocular diagnostic tools.

arrow_right Managing peripheral centers independently

2. Good working knowledge of Internal Medicine and patient care

3. Surgical skill to become an independent cataract surgeon in ECCE, SICS and Phacoemulsification with additional exposure to
