Dr Arshee S Ahmed completed her graduation from Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College & Hospital,Bangalore in 2007. She did her post graduation – Diploma in Ophthalmology (DO) from Government Medical College, Mysore and was awarded the Gold medal by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences for the same in 2010. She then did her Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology from Sankara Eye Hospital, Coimbatore in 2012. She then underwent training in Uvea & Medical Retina at Sankara Nethralya, Chennai from 2012 to 2014. She was awarded the “Best Outgoing Fellow” by the Medical Research Foundation. She is a member of the prestigious International Council of Ophthalmologists and holds the FICO degree.

Presently she is working as a Senior Consultant in the department of Uveitis and Intraocular inflammation at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.

She has authored & co-authored multiple papers in international and national journals of ophthalmology with a special interest in the diagnosis and management of uveitic diseases. She has attended numerous conferences and presented her work at various platforms and is a reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals.

Area of Expertise/Interest

Diagnosis and management of intraocular inflammation in the eye including uveitic disorders and retinal diseases like retinal vasculitis.

She is also an accomplished cataract surgeon specializing in the various types of cataract surgery using premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) like premium monofocals, EDoF IOLs, Toric IOLs and Multifocal IOLs. She is also an expert in handling complicated cataracts in uveitic patients.
