Dr. Mrittika Sen is an Ocular Oncologist and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon with strong surgical skills and research aptitude. She completed her medical education from Seth G.S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai. She went on to do her postgraduation from Dr R. P.Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She continued with a Long Term Clinical Fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery and Ocular Oncology at the Centre for Sight Eye Hospital, Hyderabad (2018-21) and Research Fellowship in Ocular Oncology (2021-2022) from Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, USA. She has presented at various national and international conferences including ISOO, AAO, APAO, OPAI and AIOS. She has over 70 peer-reviewed publications and chapters in books with over 1590 citations. She was the Assistant Section Editor of Ocular Oncology and Ocular Plastic Surgery in Indian Journal of Ophthalmology and is currently the Section Editor of Surgical Ophthalmology in Frontiers of Ophthalmology, and a reviewer in multiple international journals. She was the author of the monthly column, Tales of Yore, in IJO and Lacrimal History – Doyens of Dacryology Series, in Seminars in Ophthalmology. She is the Editor of AIOS Times.
