Dr. Sharanya Sarah Abraham is a qualified ophthalmologist with recognition in the field. After her medical graduate studies, she pursued post-graduation in both Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai and Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. She did a clinical fellowship in Uvea and Medical Retina in Sankara Nethralaya. She has been involved in clinical and research work and has presented papers and posters at national and international conferences. She has taken part in online teaching programmes and workshops. She has contributed to chapters in textbooks on ocular inflammation. She was the recipient of the Dr. G Venkataswamy Gold Medal award for DO in 2011. She won the Best Poster Award at the Uveitis Society of India (USI) conference in 2018 and the Dr. Carl Herbort Travel Grant for Free Paper presentation in the Emirates Uveitis and Retina Update (EUVRE-USICON) in 2023 . Dr. Abraham is a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) and holds membership in prestigious ophthalmological societies including AIOS, TNOA, and USI. She has taken an active part in several cataract screening camps in rural South India. She did a clinical attachment in the Uveitis services under Mr. Carlos Pavesio at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK, in 2019. At present, she is a senior consultant in the Uveitis department in Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.
