Dr. Vineet Ratra is a senior ophthalmologist with extensive qualifications including DNB and FRCS(Ed), currently serving as a Senior Consultant at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India. With a stellar academic background, Dr. Ratra has mentored countless postdoctoral fellows and has been a faculty member for various prestigious programs, such as the Ratan Tata Cataract Surgery Fellowship program. With a passion for teaching, Dr. Ratra has delivered over 75 talks at national and international conferences on Cataract surgeries and Glaucoma management. Dr. Ratra's professional journey also includes pivotal roles in establishing and managing eye care facilities both domestically and internationally, demonstrating a commitment to advancing ophthalmic care on a global scale. He was previously associated with Apollo Hospital, Bangalore as Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist, Deputed to Apollo Hospital, Colombo, and also served as an International Faculty at CMER Shenzen Eye Hospital.

Professional achievements:

• He was instrumental in setting up and managing the Sankara Nethralaya at Kolkatta 2003 – 2005.
• He was deputed to Apollo Hospital Colombo 2005 – 2006.
• On his return to Chennai was Incharge of Navasuja Sankara Nethralaya 2007 – 2012 and was also part of the Administrative committee of Sankara Netharalaya.
• He has served as Senior consultant ophthalmology at Apollo Hospital Bangalore from 2012 -2013
• He has also served as International faculty at CMER Shenzen eye hospital from 2014 -2015
