Services at Teleophthalmology Camps
Objectives of the project
- To provide high quality Eye care (International standards).
- To provide comprehensive Eye care at the door steps for the rural poor, for all ocular
disorders.
- To ensure that all school children are screened for refractive errors.
- To ensure that the spectacles are provided to at affordable cost or given free of cost
(Donations).
- To ensure Diabetics patients are screened for diabetic retinopathy.
- To ensure cataract patients and other surgical patients undergo surgery at main hospital
and they will be provided medicines. Transport, accommodation, food and spectacles free
of cost.
- To educate the public on sight threatening eye disorders and prevention of such diseases
by awareness programs.
- To conduct ‘Teachers Training’ programs for schools.
The Rural Mobile Teleophthalmology Camp involves the
following activities
- Planning and getting permission for camps from Government authorities
- Conducting eye camps
- Ophthalmologist treats the patients via teleconsultations and patients requiring surgery are brought to the main hospital.
- Providing best quality spectacles in low cost to the rural population.
- Conducting eye awareness programs.
