Genetics: Basic Molecular Genetic Techniques For Identifying The Causative Genetic Factors In Inherited Human Genetic Diseases; Training On The Techniques For Chromosomal Analysis (PMLC- Based Cytogenetic Methods) And Molecular Diagnosis (Nucleic Acid Extraction (DNA & RNA), PCR-based Methods Screening Of Candidate Genes With Relevant Insilico Tools)
Eligibility: Post-graduate students (Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Life Science / Genetics preferably in the final year of the Programme) and Research Scientists / Junior Faculty in all Basic Medical Sciences Departments are eligible to apply.
Application: The applications should be forwarded through proper channel by HOD / Head of the Institution. One student can attend only one course relevant to the post-graduation programme. But Candidates can apply giving the first, second choices of the courses. Depending on the availability of seats, the candidate will be given either the first or the second choice of department. Applications will be accepted on first-come first-serve. basis. The last date for accepting applications through proper channel in the prescribed format is 16th May 2023.

Selection and Fees: The students will be selected based on the selection criteria framed by the Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya. The selected students will be informed through e-mail and they may then pay the fees for Rs.10,000/- in the form of a DD in favour of Medical Research Foundation, payable at Chennai to VIBS, Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya, 41, College Road, Chennai – 600 006. The DD can be handed over personally or through post, and the receipt will be given for the same. A certificate for having undergone the course will be issued to the students along with the evaluation results, at the end of the Programme. |
