Welcome to the OSKON 2023 Conference

After an unduly prolonged hiatus of 5 years, we have come back with the 4th OSKON on the other side of the pandemic. A long gap that makes a meeting of this sort essential and crucial. Ocular Surface Disorders, over the years has garnered for itself the designation of a superspeciality in its own right. Straddling the realm of cornea and oculoplasty, it is today a stand-alone field with its own identity and ramifications. Notwithstanding the constant interplay with glaucoma and vitreoretinal comorbidities. At Sankara Nethralaya, the Dr G Sitalakshmi Memorial Clinic for Ocular Surface Disorders stands tall completing 18 years since its existence, offering the entire armamentarium under a single roof.

So what do we have to offer this time around? Well we have taken a huge leap of faith into integrating technology with medicine that has produced some amazing results. The Dry Eye Module – designed executed and patented at SN, is a unique tool that aims to standardize reporting across platforms. A similar chemical injury Module is being developed to once again not only standardize reporting but also to provide a management directive. E-PIX – our enhanced grade generator for acute chemical injuries – freely accessible online – is the icing on the cake. All this and more has been packaged under the Ocular Surface Portal – a web based application for OSD’s (https://ocularsurfaceportal.in/#/login).

The highlight of OSKON2023 is the newly introduced Pre Meeting Workshop that will include clinics, live surgeries and brainstorming sessions. Where theory and its clinical application will be dissected threadbare. From the corridors of dry eye & allergy to the gallows of cicatricial diseases, OSKON2023 aims to have the finest minds come together to share, teach and learn – the intricacies and the nuances of diagnosis and management.

In collaboration with the Kpro Study Group, the Kpro Symposium will be held along with OSKON2023, kick starting the meeting on the 25th of August, 2023. To be held over 3 days, OSKON2023 promises to be the most exciting scientific meeting on OSD’s covering a wide array of topics and stalwarts in the field.
