General Services at Sankara Nethralaya
Our hygienic Canteen within the hospital ensures healthy food to the patients and to the attendants. It provides South Indian dishes with additional touch of north Indian food items. Fresh fruit juices are also available. It has a seating capacity of around 70 people. It functions from 7am to 8 pm.
Coffee Shop
We have a coffee shop that serves steaming hot south Indian machine made filter coffee, tea, cool drinks and snack items. When your kith and kin are busy with the treatment, our coffee shop provides an ideal place for you to refresh yourself with a coffee/tea/cool drink and snacks. The coffee shop is run by SWAN – Sankara Nethralaya Women's Auxiliary. It remains open from 7 am to 8 pm.
PCO Booth
As part of our services to enable you to contact your kith and kin for update, assistance and relieve them from the anxiety they may have, we have a telephone booth facility for you to make STD and ISD calls. This facility is provided near our exit gate. There is a volunteer available there to help in dialing numbers. It is also run by SWAN – Sankara Nethralaya Women's Auxiliary and functions from 7 am to 9 pm.
Utility Shop
For your benefit, we have a Utility shop with in the hospital premises where we stock and sell essential items, that you may need for day-to-day activities. It is also managed by SWAN – Sankara Nethralaya Women's Auxiliary It also takes care of handing over of free glasses to the poor patients.
SWAN – Sankara Nethralaya Women’s Auxiliary
Sankara Nethralaya Women's Auxiliary or more popularly known as SWAN, renders yeoman services to all patients. Volunteers of the SWAN help the patients from other stations and make them comfortable. Patients may contact SWAN volunteers for any assistance. They are instrumental in running the coffee shop, PCO and the utility counters.
Transport faclities between campus
We provide regular transport facilities for our patients to travel between our different campuses in case of need. Our Travel Department ensures that the patients are picked up and dropped as required between our campuses. The boarding point for our vehicle is at a prominent place where the timing of the trip is also displayed.
